Story:

There is purpose & a story behind this photo that is a reminder of resistance, love & resilience.  The môswa (moose) is so vital to Indigenous communities and provides so much. 

In 2021 in my backyard in the city when my neighbours called fish and wildlife (F&W) for tanning hides in my backyard on so called Canada Day.  It was hard facing discrimination based on my cultural practices & them trying to enforce F&W to get us to stop our ways of knowing.  Sometimes your own backyard isn’t safe. Fast forward to 2025 I have dreamed of a place where we can practice our traditional ways of knowing without being discriminated against, A place where we feel safe, A place where we’re immersed on the land, A place where we’re not policed a place where we could share laugh and be with one another.  This place is What I call the hide land.  From The sale of all of my items from my website will be going to the hide land,
